Light Metals Production - Master

Light Metals Production - Master lasts for two academic years. The compulsory courses may be supplemented with optional courses that better fit your background and your interests.

The first year on Light Metals Production - Master will provide you with the necessary background in materials science, electrochemistry, thermodynamics and production of light metals. In addition, you will be taught the experimental techniques needed for the project and your thesis work. At the end of the second semester you will participate in our annual “International Course on Process Metallurgy of Aluminium”.

The third semester on Light Metals Production - Master provides some specialisation through the project work and this continues through the work with the MSc thesis in the fourth semester. The MSc thesis corresponds to four months full-time work. The topics for the project and the thesis are closely related to current research projects at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
